Frequently asked questions

CURIOUS to KNOW more?

Below you will find more information about mobile dental hygiene services and how it works:

How does a mobile clinic work?

  • Booking an appointment: You can schedule your visit by using my online booking system: click here.

  • The Appointment: On the day of your appointment, my fully equipped mobile clinic (mobile cart) will travel to your location (home, workplace, or care facility). After setting up and gathering a fully confidential medical history, consent for treatment and privacy policy, I will perform dental hygiene services. These include an oral assessment to develop a tailored dental hygiene treatment plan, oral hygiene education, scaling/ root planing, and an optional polish and/ or flouride treatment.

  • Personalized Care: After treatment, we will discuss your oral health and a future treatment plan for you to maintain a healthy smile. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have.

Who can benefit from a mobile dental hygiene clinc?

Literally, anyone! The most common being individuals with mobility or health issues where they can’t access a dental clinic. Although, people with dental anxiety, or who live rural and remotely, or even work a 9-5 job and just don’t have the time to get to a dental clinic have also scheduled cleanings!

What services do i offer?

  • Oral assessment-if you are unsure if you want a dental cleaning or what it includes for you, I am open to either a phone conversation or in-person meet and greet. At that time, I will assess your oral health to give you a predetermination of the dental hygiene treatment and any referrals to other health professionals you may require.

  • Dental hygiene cleaning-this is a regular dental cleaning. For every new person it includes a complete exam (medical history and overall health review, charting of oral health, oral hygiene education, scaling, and an optional polish and/ or fluoride treatment).

  • At-home whitening (or take home kits). I offer three different types of at-home professional whitening.

    1. The first (least costly) is a do-it-yourself take home kit that comes with trays and two whitening pens.

    2. The second is a tray with built in UV light (to accelerate whitening) and two whitening pens.

    3. The third is a professional in-home service where I apply teeth whitening for rapid best results.

The whitening company is a Canadian company known for their amazing product that can be used for people specifically with tooth sensitivity!! Also, it is natural with no additives/ preservatives, cruelty free, gluten free, and vegan!

What areas do I serve?

Currently, I am located in Comox Valley. I am not opposed to traveling North/ South Vancouver Island. Also, I am open to traveling further if time allows it so please contact me!

Denman Island & Hornby: I practice out of a space located behind the Abraxus Bookstore approximately every second Saturday.

Do you need to prepare anything before your appointment?

Before the hygiene appointment, it is important to help clear a space close to an outlet for the mobile hygiene equipment. Further, it is important to let me know of any dental anxiety or medical history concerns that I should be aware of to best serve you!

What are your payment options?

Offerings include: direct billing, acceptance of NHIB, CDCP, disability and other BC programs. Also, I accept in-person direct payment.

Are my services covered by insurance?

The dental hygiene services I provide are followed by the current BC Dental Fee Guide, which is recognized and covered by insurances.

If there is an additional service that I think would benefit you, I will treatment plan beforehand and discuss this option with you.

I offer one free cancellation and after that I charge a $50 fee when an appointment is cancelled less than 24hrs before the appointment.
